Julie Barber is the senior shellfish biologist for the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community Fisheries Department. As the shellfish team lead, she oversees all shellfish projects ranging from native oyster restoration, larval crab research, shellfish stock assessments, the clam garden project, and more. Julie has worked in fisheries science for more than 20 years primarily in Alaska, Massachusetts, and Washington. Julie is a founding steering committee member of the Indigenous Aquaculture Collaborative.
