Olivia Horwedel is the Communications Fellow for the Indigenous Aquaculture Collaborative. She is currently completing her master’s degree at the University of Washington in the School of Marine and Environmental Affairs while also completing her graduate certificate in American Indian Studies. Her research focuses on marine ecology using a Two-Eyed Seeing approach, emphasizing Indigenous perspectives and science in conservation management. More specifically, she works in the intersections between marine mammal ecology, coastal conservation efforts, and sustainable food systems through highlighting Indigenous Knowledge and practices.
