Emily Akamine is the former project assistant for Washington Sea Mr. Ballew is lhaq’temish, and an enrolled member of the Lummi Nation from the Swan clan as well as the Eagle Clan. He is a lifelong harvester and steward of the Salish Sea, and former elected leader on the Lummi Indian Business Council. Mr. Ballew is currently a faculty member at Northwest Indian College and a steering committee member for the Indigenous Aquaculture Collaborative.
