Beangka Elliott is a traditional knowledge holder of the W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership Council and coordinator of the Sea Gardens Restoration Project with Gulf Islands National Park Reserve. She carries her ancestry from the Tsartlip First Nation, Songhees Nation, and Esquimalt Nation. Her work is centered upon Indigenous foods and medicine, and she implements this through workshops and community outreach. She is also an Indigenous youth leader and spokesperson for Project Reclaim, educating and empowering younger generations about gender, consent, substances, social equity, and understanding the harmful effects of colonization.
