Ala̱g̱a̱mił Nicole Norris is from the Hul’q’mi’num territory, belonging to the Xeláltxw Nation. She is an intergovernmental communicator, cultural practitioner and shellfish aquaculture specialist for the last 26 years. Currently the First Nation strategic partnership coordinator and facilitator of cultural safety and humility for Vancouver Island and the First Nation Liaison for the Central Coast Emergency Management as well as the Island Corridor Foundation. Outside of work she has been mastering the art of wool and cedar weaving, and Nicole is a button blanket and regalia maker.
