Elizabeth Unsell is a Shellfish Biologist with the Suquamish Tribe. She received a Bachelor’s from Western Washington University and has been working for the Tribe’s Shellfish Program for 14 years. She works on intertidal harvest management in order to provide opportunities for Tribal harvest, including surveys and monitoring of commercial harvests on private and public tidelands. She also works on restoration of native species projects, including Olympia Oysters, and now the Basket Cockle. This Cockle project has been community motivated and inspired, and has been very rewarding.
