Ses Yehomia Laural Ballew is a member of the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community and lives on the Lummi Nation. She is the executive director of the Office of Tribal Relations at Western Washington University. Laurel created the program for Tribal Governance and Business Management and the Northwest Indian College. Laurel is a steering committee member for the Indigenous Aquaculture Collaborative.
