Mr. Ballew is lhaq’temish, and an enrolled member of the Lummi Nation from the Swan clan as well as the Eagle Clan. He is a lifelong harvester and steward of the Salish Sea, and former elected leader on the Lummi Indian Business Council. Mr. Ballew is currently a faculty member at Northwest Indian College and a steering committee member for the Indigenous Aquaculture Collaborative.
